Sankofa Speech & Language Services, LLC

Sankofa Speech and Language Services provides evaluation, treatment, and consultative services for children with communication differences or disorders. They also provide consultation, direct intervention, and workshops for adults addressing accent modification and effective communication.

Our goal was to develop a brand identity that bridged the company mission with the Ghanaian Adikra symbol, the Sankofa Bird. This symbol is derived from an African proverb which states, “Se wo were fin na wosankofa a yenkyi,” which translates as “It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten.” In place of the pebble, we replaced it with a speech balloon. We also utilized negative space to symbolize the learner’s profile as the look to the future.
